Bar-Ilan Making AI Faster and Sustainable

News

As the coordinator of the the MultiSpin.AI project, funded by the European Union’s Horizon Europe programme, Bar-Ilan researchers are leading the development of a new technology that could make AI faster and more sustainable.

The project, which aims to revolutionize how AI computations are performed, is a combined effort of BIU with partners across Europe. At the heart of this innovation is a technology called spintronics, which could overcome the limitations that currently hold back AI development.

This research could have far-reaching implications for how we use AI in our daily lives. From medical diagnostics to smart city management, the technology being developed could enable more efficient, sustainable AI applications that process information locally without constant cloud connectivity.

The project represents another significant achievement for Bar-Ilan’s growing research portfolio and reinforces its position as a leader in cutting-edge technology development.
