Bar-Ilan’s Department of Translation and Interpreting Studies has opened a free telephone translation service for non-Hebrew speaking individuals trying to reach public institutions, emergency services and social organizations.
The translation centre provides an essential service in real time to speakers of Arabic, Russian, Ukrainian, Amharic, Tigris, French, Spanish, Portuguese and English.
Additionally, sign-language interpreters from Bar-Ilan’s School of Social Work began a voluntary project to promote accessibility for the deaf and hard-of-hearing community during the war. The purpose of the project is to make war-related volunteer activities sign-language accessible.
